The preseason is a great opportunity for young guys to show they deserve a spot on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster. Here are three who stepped up Friday.

After the preseason opener for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we pointed out 3 starters who stepped up to the plate and stood out. With players like Lavonte David, Vita Vea, Justin Evans and more out with injuries, some unheralded players are also getting a chance to step up and prove they belong in the NFL for the Buccaneers.

The preseason is the time for these players who were not drafted, overlooked, and have a chip on their shoulder to make a name for themselves. With such a young roster and overhaul of the older veterans, the Buccaneers have a number of these players looking to make an NFL roster.

In the past, players like wide receiver Adam Humphries have come into Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent and have left Tampa Bay with a new contract worth $9 million annually. Every rep given to these players who are fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster is an opportunity to show the coaching staff they belong.

One game down, and three to go for the Buccaneers until their final 53-man roster has to be finalized. Here are three players who stood out for the Buccaneers as they continue to fight for a roster spot in their first preseason game against the Steelers.
