LB Devin White

Somehow, the player who has quietly flown under the radar this summer has been fifth overall pick Devin White. The highly anticipated linebacker out of Louisiana State has been getting starting reps from day-one of the offseason, but has not really caused a splash this summer.

As White prepares for his second preseason game, it would be wonderful to see him make a big time play for the Buccaneers’ defense. He will most likely only play a series or two, so the window to observe White will be rather small tomorrow night.

Maybe the biggest concern for White coming out of college was his lane discipline in the run game, and last week he did get sucked inside on a against Pittsburgh. Tomorrow night White can make a big improvement by remaining patient against the run and attacking accordingly; you cannot blame the guy for wanting to make every play, but in most cases he is taking himself out of the play.

Can White burst onto the scene for the Buccaneers tomorrow night as they take on the Dolphins or will he continue to quietly go about his business? All eyes will be locked on number 45 for the short amount of time he will be on the field for the pewter and red tomorrow night.
