Second Quarter

Jameis Winston and the rest of the Tampa Bay starting unit remain on the field for the second quarter. Peyton Barber again carries the load for the Bucs as he chips away at the yards before a twenty yard pass from Jameis Winston to 6th year wide receiver Mike Evans.

Another extra point from Matt Gay adds seven more to the Buccaneers haul. The Miami offense seems to have little confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick after the interception, going three and out with successive run plays to Kenyan Drake. The Dolphins defense step up their game with another three and out series following a fantastic catch from Breshad Perriman, and then two backward run plays from Ellington.

Miami’s next offensive drive is another nightmare for Ryan Fitzpatrick, sacked on two successive plays by Vita Vea and Devin White. Despite their woes, the Dolphins make their way to the Tampa Bay two yard line, but are stopped on 4th down as Fitzpatrick throws the ball away, under pressure from Shaq Barrett.

To end his play for the night, Jameis Winston orchestrates an amazing drive, spreading the ball between Peyton Barber, Chris Godwin, Justin Watson, and Mike Evans. Andre Ellington finishes the drive with five yards for a Buccaneer touchdown. Four seconds left before halftime is just enough time for Fitzpatrick to end his night with a kneel and a slow walk back to the locker room.
