5 reasons to be pessimistic about the Buccaneers in 2019

Although the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have garnered a ton of hype heading into the 2019 season, realistically speaking, it is going to be another long year.

To be blunt, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ performance against the Cleveland Browns was eye opening in the worst possible way. While there has been a ton of optimism heading into the regular season with Bruce Arians now running the show in Tampa Bay, buckle up because it is going to be a long season.

After back-to-back 5-11 seasons, there is little reason to believe that the Buccaneers will all of a sudden make a gigantic shift in performance just based off of coaching. As much as the community of Tampa Bay, and it is understandable why, wants to believe this year will be different, it is highly unlikely for this Buccaneers’ team to have a winning record.

Some of the reasons for pessimism are already evident on the field, and the others are fairly data driven reasons. The Buccaneers could still take a step forward while it could be a bumpy season, and that is likely to be the case for the pewter and red.

It is not the popular thing to write or say, especially on the brink of the regular season, but it is necessary to establish realistic expectations for the Buccaneers before the season begins. Here are five reasons to remain rather pessimistic about the Buccaneers in 2019.
