K Matt Gay
Anyone who fed the agenda that there was a kicking agenda deserves a swift kick below the belt. The moment Matt Gay was selected with a fifth round pick, Cairo Santos started packing his bag as the so-called competition was already over. Gay has lived up to the hype though, and looks like he has a big time leg attached to him.
Even after Santos was signed to a one-year extension, the Buccaneers did not learn from the ghost of Roberto Aguayo and went against analytics by drafting Gay. Santos has played well this preseason too, so he should land elsewhere as the league is desperate for consistent kickers.
P Bradley Pinion
The only punter currently on the Buccaneers’ roster is Bradley Pinion. He signed a four year deal with the Buccaneers this offseason in a money saving move that saw veteran Bryan Anger get sent packing. The punting job is his and was never really in question.
LS Zach Triner
The Buccaneers’ long snapper will be Zach Triner as he rounds out the roster and their special teams group. All guts, no glory; it is a thankless job, but someone has to do it. With that, the Buccaneers’ 53-man roster prediction comes to a conclusion.
