As the 2019 season is set to begin for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, tight end O.J. Howard is pledging to donate school resources for kids based on his play.
In a bit of good news from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers front, tight end O.J. Howard has launched a campaign to donate money towards buying school resources for kids. His pledge is to donate $100 per catch he makes throughout the 2019 season, which could add up to a rather large charitable donation given his potential.
Over the first two seasons of his professional career with the Bucs, Howard has already caught 60 passes in just 24 games. Last season he caught 34 balls from both Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick for 565 yards and five scores. Howard has a total of nearly 1,000 career receiving yards and eleven scores in two seasons with the Buccaneers as well.
However, last year Howard played just ten games as he has fought off nagging injuries in both of his seasons in the NFL to this point. Adjusting his stats from a year ago over sixteen games, Howard was on pace for a season with 54 catches for 904 yards and eight scores from his tight end position.
If Howard is able to stay healthy, he could be looking at a donation of around $6,000 towards buying school resources for kids based off of his catch total for the 2019 season. The Buccaneers’ tight end has been active in the community since he got to Tampa Bay, and those acts continue here.
Howard provided a link to his pledge via Twitter for fans to donate to his cause as well to give kids school resources. Not only does the Buccaneers’ 2019 campaign kick off on Sunday, but so does Howard’s campaign of goodwill as well.
