Buccaneers vs. 49ers: What does Madden think?
By Cory Kinnan
Overtime
The Buccaneers win the toss and they choose to receive. If they score a touchdown, the game is over, if they kick a field goal, the 49ers will get a chance to match or win the game on their possession. New Buccaneer T.J. Logan brings it out of the endzone, but the 49ers are able to get him trapped within the 15 yard line.
To add insult to injury, the Buccaneers are called for a holding penalty on the kick return, backing them up even further. Half the distance to the goalline, the Buccaneers start their drive to begin overtime at the seven and a half yard line.
On first down, the Buccaneers continue to move backwards as Ronald Jones is hit for a loss of three yards on first down. Now dropped within the five yard line, the Buccaneers find themselves in a tough spot on the drive as Winston drops back to pass. The 49ers’ front four is as advertised as Buckner sacks Winston in the endzone for a safety. The Buccaneers lose their home opener in devastating fashion on a safety.
The Buccaneers will take on the Carolina Panthers next week and look to bounce back as they travel to Charlotte to face Gerald McCoy for the first time in his career.
