Box Score Statistics
To start his contract year, Winston had a solid game as it appears the marriage of the former first overall pick and Arians is working. Winston completed 72 percent of his passes, going 31 for 43 for 399 yards through the air. He found a receiver in the endzone on three separate occasions while only throwing one interception, which is progress for Winston who was a turnover machine a year ago.
Barber mustered 4.7 yards per carry in this game, averaging more than he did all last year as he did not manage to average even four yards per carry. On 12 carries, Barber totaled 57 yards and one touchdown on the ground for the Buccaneers. Jones managed just 12 yards on five carries as he is not off to a great start to his bounce back campaign.
Evans was as consistent as ever, catching 10 passes from Winston for a whopping 170 yards and a touchdown for the Buccaneers. Chris Godwin tallied 96 yards on seven catches, Howard caught six passes for 68 yards and a score, and Brate caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Gay went four of four on extra points, he hit one field goal, but did miss another as well. This missed kick by Gay turned out to be the difference in a loss and win for the Buccaneers in this matchup against the 49ers.
