Buccaneers mock draft Monday after week one loss to 49ers
By Cory Kinnan
4.104: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
Entering the fourth round of the draft, the Buccaneers move back to the defensive side of the football to address the trenches along their defensive front. While the Buccaneers’ defensive unit put together a strong showing yesterday against the Niners, the majority of them are playing off one year contracts, including Suh.
Adding depth to the defensive line for the Buccaneers should take on a mid-round priority for general manager Jason Licht and Arians. Here they select Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, who has been touted as one of the more athletic players at his position at the collegiate level.
At 6-2 and 301 pounds, Gallimore has the flexibility to line up either over the center or as a defensive end in Bowles’ 3-4 defensive scheme. Gallimore enters his senior season in 2019 after coming off the best year of his career as a junior where he tallied three sacks and five tackles for loss for the Sooners.
Thus far in the 2019 campaign for Gallimore, he has recorded one sack and two tackles for loss through two games of action. While he has the potential to move up draft boards as the season goes on, right now he is slated as a fourth round pick and lands in Tampa with the Buccaneers.
