Buccaneers mock draft Monday after week one loss to 49ers

5.136: Tipa Galeai, EDGE, Utah State
Like the defensive line of the Buccaneers, the majority of their pass rushers are also playing out the last and/or only years of their deals. Both starters Carl Nassib and Shaquil Barrett are slated to hit free agency after this season, while there is a solid chance the Buccaneers could choose to move on from the aging Jason Pierre-Paul at the end of the season as well.
Despite some off the field issues that caused Tipa Galeai to transfer from TCU to Utah State, he has a world of athletic talent and size to make an impact at the next level for the Buccaneers. Here, they use their fifth round pick to the 6-5 and 230 pound senior in order to potentially address some losses at the position or add depth if the Bucs re-sign Barrett and Nassib.
After sitting out the 2017 season due to transfer rules, Galeai put together a memorable season for Utah State last year, piling on ten sacks, 13.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one defensive touchdown for the Utah State defense. He has yet to tally a sack as a senior, but has recorded one tackle for loss in 2019.
