Plank: QB Jameis Winston

Ever since the hiring of head coach Bruce Arians we have heard nothing but how things would change and how he believed quarterback Jameis Winston would be much improved. While we have seen instances of improving and making wise decisions, he made some equally puzzling throws that proved he is who the city of Tampa thought he was.

Winston finished the game with just one touchdown and three interceptions against the 49ers, including a game sealing pick six on an awful throw off of his back foot with two minutes left in the game. While two of the three interceptions were not entirely on Winston, the third one was completely indefensible, and cost the Buccaneers a chance at winning the game.

Arians did state that running back Peyton Barber ran the wrong route that lead to the second interception, but the matchup of Richard Sherman on Barber should have been a red flag from the beginning. His first interception came off of a dropped pass by tight end O.J. Howard that landed in the lap of a Niners’ defender.

Overall, Winston threw for less than 200 yards and completed just 55 percent of his passes. In his contract year, Winston is off to a bad start as he looks to prove that he is the trustworthy guy in Tampa moving forward.
