Barber or Jones?

Peyton Barber got the starting nod against the 49ers last Sunday but it was the second year running back Jones who finished with the most touches. Bruce Arians has stated numerous times that Barber is the starter, but they will not hesitate to ride the hot hand.

Jones finished with 13 carries for 75 rushing yards and one reception for 18 yards, while Barber had eight carries for 33 yards and two receptions for 12 yards. Neither back posted good fantasy numbers but Jones showed tons of improvement from a year ago and looked like the far more explosive of the duo. While Jones is listed as the backup, it would not be a shock to see him out-touch Barber again here tonight.

The Panthers allowed the Rams’ backfield to rush a whopping 25 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Keep in mind that L.A. played with a lead most of the game and tried running to keep the clock ticking, which may have inflated these rushing numbers. One of these Bucs’ running back has potential for a good day, but it’s a dart throw trying to predict which one it will be. If choosing one, I would prefer to start Jones since I think he provides more upside, but avoid starting either if possible.
