WR Chris Godwin

As it turns out, the Buccaneers may have one of the best, if not the best, receiving tandems in the entire league. We know what Mike Evans brings to the table on a week-to-week basis, however Chris Godwin is blossoming before our eyes in Tampa.

Through two games, it is wide receiver Godwin who leads the Bucs in receiving and not superstar Mike Evans. While Evans played the first game with a bug and did not produce to his normal self, Godwin clearly outpaced him last night against the Panthers.

Godwin had a career day against the Panthers, in front of a national audience, totaling eight catches for 121 yards and catching Jameis Winston’s only passing touchdown of the day. He has now scored in both weeks of the season thus far for the Buccaneers, and has tallied 174 total receiving yards through two games as well.

If this pace continues for the third year receiver, then he will see his first 1,000 yard receiving season of his career as his numbers have continued to climb year in and year out. The Giants do not particularly have one of the better secondaries outside of strong safety Jabrill Peppers, so Godwin could continue to shine as Evans covers up most of the attention.
