Offensive Plank: Offensive Line

This offensive line just doesn’t seem to click and allowed Jameis to get hurried and sacked several times. Additionally, the running game couldn’t get established well; getting false starts penalties that caused good drives to end early is just the icing on the cake. This is an issue that needs to be fixed so Jameis can make plays and our running game can improve.

Defensive Plank: Free Pass

Someone will complain about this but oh well, I’m giving the defense a break because this game was about as well as we could’ve hoped for. Holding the Panthers to just14 points and refusing to let Newton and company in to the endzone, all of Carolina’s points came off of field goals and a safety.

They carried a bend-but-don’t-break mentality in last night’s game. Bowles has completely transformed this defense that was abysmal a year ago under former defensive coordinator Mike Smith. Even though rookie linebacker Devin White went down with an injury early in this one, the Buccaneers maintained a next-man-up mentality as Kevin Minter stepped in and held down the fort.

Next. Buccaneers already on a torrid pace to start 2019 season. dark

It has been two weeks in a row now that the Buccaneers’ defense has carried the offensive side of the ball. As the Giants are set to come to town, can they make it three straight solid performances for the pewter and red?
