RB Kenyan Drake

While running back may not be as big of a need as it was at the beginning of the offseason, the Buccaneers’ rushing attack problems have not been completely solved yet. As the Miami Dolphins continue to ship everyone off as they tank, Kenyan Drake is rumored to be disgruntled and on the market as well.

In week one, Ronald Jones took the charge with 75 yards on 13 carries, yet week two he saw just four carries for nine yards. On Thursday, however, it was Peyton Barber who led the charge with 86 yards and a score; he only averaged less than four yards per carry though.

This year’s rushing attack feels eerily similar to last year’s struggles on the ground as there has been no back taking the lead. Drake would present a more versatile option for the Buccaneers, should they make a move, as he can excel as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

Drake has averaged nearly five yards per carry throughout his career on the ground, with nearly 1,400 yards rushing and nine touchdowns rushing. Through the air, Drake has added an additional 101 catches for over 800 yards and six additional scores. Regardless, Drake is averaging about five yards per touch, which is more than Jones or Barber can claim to this point in their career.
