Offensive Plank: OL Donovan Smith & Demar Dotson

I’m sorry but Demar, brother, it may be time to hang up the cleats and retire after this one. Multiple penalties came from Dotson again in this one, as his overall play as regressed hard in his last year of his contract.

Much younger than Dotson, but just as ineffective, Donovan Smith continues to play poorly after receiving a massive extension this offseason. The Buccaneers are going to have to take a deep look at the offensive lineman coming out in the 2020 NFL Draft and may need to take more than one of them.

Defensive Plank: Vernon Hargreaves

Vernon Hargreaves was a piece of bread that got run through the toaster multiple times: burnt. While he tallied 12 tackles last week against the Panthers, he still did not play well in coverage. This showing against the Giants was a continuation of that as Hargreaves was frequently chasing down receivers from behind.

After a strong week one showing against the San Francisco 49ers, where Hargreaves returned an interception for a touchdown, his play has slowly gone downhill ever since. He will have his hands full again as Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods are next on his plate as the Buccaneers travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams this week.
