After a loss to the New York Giants, featuring a kicker who hung five points on the board, this Mock Draft Monday for the Buccaneers will not have a kicker.

The title is obviously a joke as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were hit with a bit of deja vu after kicker Matt Gay hung five points on the board in a devastating 32-31 loss to the New York Giants yesterday. The Bucs did not learn their lesson after whiffing on Roberto Aguayo in the second round back in 2016 as they took Gay in the fifth round this past Spring.

Gay is now on the hot seat as he has already missed multiple extra points and multiple field goals, including a game winner yesterday. His leash is short moving forward in Tampa Bay, and it remains another great lesson as to why it is never a wise idea to take a special teamer with any selection in the draft.

The Buccaneers’ main draft needs have not changed much over the first three weeks of the season as offensive tackle remains their biggest need. Longest tenured Buc Demar Dotson looks like his cleats are halfway hung up thus far this season as he enters the last year of his contract, and has been penalized heavily through three weeks.

Here is the fourth edition of Mock Draft Monday for the Buccaneers, and it will not feature a kicker; hopefully the higher ups at One Buc take notice.
