4.104 Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland

While the Buccaneers have improved their running game this year, and Ronald Jones is looking much improved in his second season in the NFL, they will still more than likely need to add another back in the draft. Peyton Barber re-signed with the Bucs this offseason, but just on a one-year deal, and it is unlikely that they will bring him back after the 2019 season.

If the Buccaneers are able to grab Anthony McFarland from the University of Maryland in the fourth round of the draft then they should sprint the card straight up to the podium and turn it in. In just his redshirt sophomore year, McFarland would be entering the league with fresh legs as well, which is vitally important at the running back position.

As a redshirt freshman a year ago, McFarland rushed for over 1,000 yards on just 131 attempts, averaging him out at nearly eight yards per carry. He is also an efficient receiver out of the backfield, averaging 10 yards per reception for the Terepins a year ago.

Thus far in his redshirt sophomore campaign, McFarland has rushed for just 225 yards, averaging just below five yards per carry; he has, however, tallied more touchdowns this season than he did all last season with five. Look for the 5-9 and 198 pound back to get rolling for Maryland as the season moves along.
