5.136 Jordon Scott, DT, Oregon

Jordon Scott has also made an appearance in a mock draft previously, but as the board fell, he was the best player available at a position of need for the Buccaneers. Let’s face it, Ndamukong Suh will not be back to the Buccaneers next season as he will be off chasing his next big contract.

However, Vita Vea is as advertised as he has consistently added pressure on opposing quarterbacks and has kept linemen off the linebackers by eating double teams. Adding another depth piece to a unit that will need it in 2020 with the fifth round is a necessity, and the Buccaneers may need to do it even earlier in the draft.

Scott is one big boy, measuring in at 6-1 and 322 pounds for the Oregon Ducks, and here he goes from a Duck to a Buc. Not known as much of a pass rusher, but more of a block eating nose tackle, Scott does the dirty work and he does it well. Playing out his junior campaign currently, Scott has two sacks and eight tackles for loss over the past two years years of his collegiate career.

Thus far through the 2019 season, Scott has recorded a tackle and a half behind the line of scrimmage for the Ducks. However his contribution goes well beyond the stat sheet as he routinely clears lanes for the teammates around him. In need of some depth at the defensive tackle position, Scott would make a great addition to the Buccaneers.
