Evans and Godwin both start worthy

Mike Evans is back baby! Watching Evans carve up the Giants’ secondary was a thing of pure beauty to witness. After a combined six catches for under 100 yards through two weeks, we saw Evans post video game type stats.

Evans finished the contest with 15 targets for eight receptions, 190 yards and three touchdowns. Yes, those numbers are real and not made up as crazy as it sounds. Evans will almost certainly come back down to reality this Sunday against a tough Rams secondary. Eric Weddle and Marcus Peters will make it a point to make sure nothing comes easy to Evans this week to assure they don’t get embarrassed like the Giants players did.

The Rams are stingy when it comes to allowing opposing receivers to find the end zone but if anyone will body you for a touchdown it will be Mike Evans. With Evans likely being the main focus for the Rams on Sunday, I think we could see a bounce back game from Chris Godwin.

Godwin was electric in weeks one and two but posted just three catches on four targets for 40 yards. The Rams, like I mentioned earlier, have been great against the pass this season so I only expect one of Evans and Godwin to have a good to great game. If I had to take a guess, I would lean towards Godwin having the better day since I expect Evans to draw tougher coverage.
