The Buccaneers will be flushed with cash this offseason, but also have a handful of players who will demand rich contracts to stay in Tampa.
We are now a quarter of the way through the season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and we have a 2-2 record heading into week five. This week concluded with a week four victory in a shootout over the Los Angeles Rams; a surprise to see the 1-2 Bucs take down the defending NFC champs to get back to .500 on the season.
Throughout these four weeks, the Buccaneers have had performers who in their contract years, or will have one year left on their contracts. The Bucs may look to get out ahead of themselves and get deals done for guys entering their contract years as well this offseason.
After the Bucs restructured Jason Pierre-Paul’s contract to cut it off after this season, they will have $77 million to spend, and will need to use just about every dime to keep talent in house. If you want to keep good players within your organization, then you have to pay those good players.
It’s time for the Bucs to get out the check books as they are going to start writing some big ones. Here are four current Buccaneers who are looking a significant pay day in the face with their pay thus far in the season.
