WR Chris Godwin

There may not be a better duo of receivers to this point in the 2019 season than Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, as they both have over 350 yards receiving and four scores apiece; it is not often that a tandem of wide receivers are on pace for 1,000 yards and double-digit scores a quarter of the way through the season.

Godwin went off on the Rams yesterday, recording 172 yards receiving and two scores on a whopping 12 catches; all of these numbers were career bests for Godwin as he has continued to develop in his third season in the league. The Penn State product now leads the Buccaneers in receiving yards and catches this season.

Godwin still has one year left on his deal, but if the Buccaneers are smart, they will seek to get a long term extension done this offseason before the start of his contract year. In Cincinnati, the Bengals signed their number two receiver Tyler Boyd to a contract that averages just over $10 million per year.

This contract could provide a good barometer for the Bucs and Godwin, but most likely the front office will have to sweeten the deal a bit more.
