Arians finding untapped potential in Winston

The Buccaneers, however, were not ready to give up on Jamies in the last year of his rookie deal, hiring quarterback whisperer and friend of Licht Bruce Arians as their next head coach. The Buccaneers are currently 2-2 to start this first season with Arians, and Jameis is off to the best start of his career; if he keeps this up, he will be well on his way to a rich extension.

After four games together, Winston has thrown nine touchdowns, five interceptions and has an average quarterback rating of 95.43. If it were not for a missed field goal, the Buccaneers would be 3-1 in the season at this point as well; the shift was sudden and effective for the pewter and red.

The most impressive stat line for Winston is over the last three games as he has finally begun to show consistency under this new coaching staff. is his last three games. Against the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Rams, Winston has tossed eight touchdowns with just two interceptions.

Its clear coach Arians has made an immediate impact on Jameis, right now he is on pace for 36 touchdowns and over 4,500 passing yards. Bruce Arians’ system is a complex one, and it’s going to take time for the receivers to get the routes down, but the Bucs’ offense is finally starting to click.
