5 Players to watch for Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints
WR Chris Godwin
It’s not common that a number two wide receiver on any team is on the list over their top guy, but Chris Godwin deserves it as he is ranked among the elite in the NFL thus far this season. In all fairness, Chris Godwin is a number one receiver on most other NFL teams, but here in Tampa, Mike Evans takes the cake over the third year standout.
While Evans will likely get the bulk of the attention of Saints’ best cover corner Marshon Lattimore, Chris Godwin will be busy picking apart the middle of the field and creating headaches for Sean Peyton and the rest of his staff staff. Godwin is coming off a career game, where he put up 12 receptions for 172 yards and two touchdowns.
I’m sure Chris Godwin’s stock tripled around the league over the past few weeks, as it should. Godwin is currently sitting at third in the NFL for receiving yards, and is top five in catches as well; him and Evans are both tied with others at the top of the league in receiving touchdowns.
Last week was a coming-out party for Godwin, so I expect him to build on that with another productive game this Sunday.
