Throughout yesterday’s smackdown received at the hands of the Saints, it looked like the Buccaneers were not catering the offense toward Jameis Winston.

The passing offense of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked out of wack and out of rhythm all day against the New Orleans Saints, which led to just 252 total yards on the day. The Buccaneers dropped to 2-3 on the season, and will look to rebound in London by defeating the Carolina Panthers again.

The Buccaneers will not have the entire right side of their starting offensive line for this game after guard Alex Cappa broke his arm and Demar Dotson injured his hamstring. The Panthers lead the NFL in sacks on the season, so the Buccaneers and their depleted offensive line will have their backs up against the wall.

Quarterback Jameis Winston was dropped six times against the Saints, and it felt as though the play calling was not catered to his strengths. The Bucs should know by now just who Jameis is, so asking him to do something outside of his arsenal does not make much sense; as the saying goes, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

If the Bucs want to keep Winston healthy, for one thing, and get the most out of him, then they must cater the offense around him. Here are three ways that offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich can work within the flow of Winston’s strengths, rather than fully against them.
