The Buccaneers secondary has struggled to this point in the season, so here are some potential trade targets who are more realistic than Jalen Ramsey.

This week made it clear that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers need help on the back end of the defense, especially at the cornerback position. While the popular choice would be to pursue in-state talent Jalen Ramsey of the Jacksonville Jaguars, giving up one first rounder, let alone multiple is not an option for a team with uncertainty at the quarterback position.

The pewter and red secondary gave up more than 300 passing yards to New Orleans Saints backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in yesterday’s 31-24 defeat, who previously had not thrown for even 200 yards yet in a game yet this season.

After the game, head coach Bruce Arians said, “We’re too soft and I don’t know any other way to put it,” in reference to the play of his secondary. It did not help that their best cornerback on the field in Carlton Davis was thrown out of the game in the second half after a helmet-to-helmet hit on Saints tight end Jared Cook.

The trade deadline is October 29th, at 4:00pm Eastern Standard Time, and at that point no teams can make any more trades for the rest of the season. In the next three weeks, the Bucs will have the opportunity to upgrade their secondary; here are a few names that might interest the team.
