2. Xavien Howard, Miami Dolphins

Xavien Howard is the only remaining piece left of what was the Dolphins secondary as they have been shipping people off left and right during their tank. Howard, 26, has been one of the better young corners in the game currently, but with the Dolphins in tank mode this season and the fact that they are open to trading anyone on the roster means that Howard could be looking for a new home soon.

As the deadline approaches, I’m sure many teams will be calling about Howard, but the amount of dead money the Dolphins would have to eat could be too much for Miami to want to make the move. While the Dolphins may want to trade Howard, he signed a five year, $75.25 million dollar extension back in May and is signed through 2024, including $46 million in guaranteed money that they would be on the hook for.

The Bucs should at least ask what the price is to acquire him; Howard is a player just reaching his prime and could be a big piece to solving some of the Bucs woes at cornerback. If the Bucs want to make a deal for Howard, they would have to get the Dolphins to take some of that salary off their hands.

It’s hard to say what it would cost the Bucs to get Howard at this moment, but if a deal can be made at the right price for a top corner in the league. Expect the Bucs to pounce on the opportunity if they are interested in the young corner just down the road.
