Alex Cappa breaks arm, Demar Dotson pulls hamstring, both to miss time

The Buccaneers suffered battle wounds in yesterday’s loss to the Saints as Alex Cappa broke his arm and Demar Dotson pulled his hamstring.
The news keeps getting worse for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the beatdown they took at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Today it was revealed that starting right guard Alex Cappa suffered a broken arm in the second quarter yesterday’s divisional lose at the Superdome; right tackle Demar Dotson was also banged up.
According to Bucs’ staff writer Carmen Vitali, Cappa played through the injury for the rest of the game with a broken arm. He is expected to miss “a few weeks” as he recovers; more than likely veteran swingman Earl Watford will start in his absence.
This injury came at a bad time for the Bucs as the interior of the offensive line was just beginning to click as Cappa, Ali Marpet, and Ryan Jensen have been carrying the load of the entire unit. After quarterback Jameis Winston was sacked six times in yesterday’s loss, the Bucs will now travel to London to take on the Carolina Panthers who currently lead the league in sacks.
To add insult to injury, right tackle Demar Dotson also left yesterday’s game with a hamstring in the fourth quarter; backup Josh Wells came in as his replacement. Dotson was also already declared out by head coach Bruce Arians in his press conference today. The Buccaneers will take on the league leader in sacks with two backups manning the right side of the line.
Kudos to Alex Cappa for playing through a broken arm for over a half of play, but the Bucs will miss him as he was coming into his own. The Buccaneers will look to bounce back overseas against the Carolina Panthers and complete the series sweep of their divisional rivals without Cappa and Demar Dotson.
