4 Buccaneers offensive line targets not named Trent Williams

Joe Looney
A former fourth rounder of the San Francisco 49ers back in the 2012 NFL Draft, the 29 year old Joe Looney would be a savvy veteran with plenty of playing time under his belt for the Bucs to pursue. Throughout his career, Looney has played both guard and center throughout his time with both the Niners and the Dallas Cowboys.
In fact, as Cowboys’ All Pro center Travis Frederick was sidelined all last year with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Looney stepped in and started all 16 games for them at center. Now that Frederick is healthy, is Looney available for trade as he could easily move back to guard and fill in for Cappa?
Looney has, however, started all five games at guard for the Cowboys this year as Zack Martin is now hurt for them. If Martin’s injury is close to being healed, then the Cowboys may be more likely to part ways with Looney; if they are, the Buccaneers should be on the horn yesterday.
Given his success over the past could of years though, he could too cost as high as a third rounder to acquire right around the trade deadline. However, with Looney, the Bucs would have the security that they were getting an experienced and ready veteran to plug in at the right guard position.
