Ronald Jones rushes for 100 yards

Doing something for the first time in his young career, second year running back Ronald Jones will rush for 100 yards and lead the Bucs on the ground. While he has been splitting carries with Peyton Barber, who led the team in rushing last season, Jones has started to take over the majority of the carries; that trend will continue in this matchup against the Panthers.

When looking at the analytics to this point in the season, Jones is a top ten back in the NFL. If his carries increase, he is on pace for 1,000 yards in his second season after an abysmal start to his career as a rookie. After totaling more yards in the first game against the San Francisco 49ers than he did all season in 2018, Jones looks more explosive and agile than any back we have seen in Tampa since Warrick Dunn or Cadillac Williams.

It is time for the Bucs to hand over the keys to the Bucs’ rush offense over to Jones as he is averaging a yard more than Barber per touch and his shown much more burst and open field ability. The lightbulb will go on on Sunday, and Jones will hit the ground running and hit the century mark on the English pitch Sunday morning.
