Matt Gay hits a game winner

Why does it seem that these divisional matchups always come down to the wire? While last week’s beatdown at the hands of the Saints did not include a close finish, the Panthers are not quite to the level of the Saints. Besides, the first matchup against the Panthers came down to a goal line stand as well.

Expect this matchup with the Panthers to come down to the wire as well, and this last bold prediction is focused at the Special Teams unit. As time is ticking down, rookie kicker Matt Gay will split the uprights to give the Buccaneers another victory over the Panthers and to complete the season sweep.

After starting slow in the first three weeks of the season, Gay has been perfect for the pewter and red since missing the game winner against the New York Giants. Against the Los Angeles Rams in the surprising win, Gay went two-for-two on field goals, including a 58 yard bomb, and went seven-for-seven on extra points; last week the fifth round pick went one-for-one on a 42 yard field goal and made all three of his extra points on the day.

There is no reason to think this game will not be close, and it will come down to the leg of Gay. This bold prediction is that he wins the game for the Buccaneers and brings them back to the United States with a win.
