After the release of Deone Bucannon, the rumor is that the Buccaneers could potentially move on from Breshad Perriman and Bradley Pinion as well.

Earlier this week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sent linebacker/safety hybrid Deone Bucannon packing, releasing him after just five games with the team. There is reason to believe the Bucs may not be done axing free agent additions from this offseason; Are wide receiver Breshad Perriman and punter Bradley Pinion next to go?

In an attempt to keep competitive balance to the league, the NFL has a formula in which teams can earn compensatory draft picks for players who left during free agency in the offseason. The league uses an undisclosed formula to seek to determine a full round of picks to be awarded to teams based on the difference of value lost and value gained in free agency.

"“As the NFL explains, compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lose more or better compensatory free agents than they acquire. The number of picks a team can receive equals the net loss of compensatory free agents, up to a maximum of four. Compensatory free agents are determined by a secret formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. Not every free agent lost or signed is covered by the formula” (via Over The Cap)."

The Buccaneers were on pace to be right on the fringe of receiving any compensatory picks after this season due to the haul they thought they were receiving in the likes of Shaquil Barrett, Bradley Pinion, Breshad Perriman, Deone Bucannon, and others. However, only Barrett has worked out for the pewter and red this year, and after the release of Bucannon, the Bucs are now in position to receive a compensatory third rounder.
