Blow it up: 5 steps to a Tampa Bay Buccaneers rebuild

After back-to-back 5-11 seasons and no playoff appearances in 11 years, it is time for the Buccaneers to blow it up and start over.

After back-to-back 5-11 seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it is beginning to look like the 2019 season is heading in the same direction. There is a ton of time left in the season, ten games to be exact, so the pewter and red have time to turn things around.

However, if this pace continues in Tampa and under first year head coach Bruce Arians, then the team may be primed for a rebuild. While it is unlikely that the Bucs will blow their current roster up and start from scratch given that they just hired a 67 year old head coach, this article serves as a “what if.”

In the past few years, rebuilding has taken a new form in the NFL, a form started by the Cleveland Browns, and now being executed by the Miami Dolphins. While the final fruits of this rebuild for the Browns has yet to come into fruition, the results look positive to this point.

Again, while the Bucs will more than likely refuse to head into a rebuild, even if the season goes downhill, here is a five step plan to blow everything up in Tampa.
