Honorable Mention

Safety D.J. Swearinger‘s name has been thrown around a decent amount due to his respect for Bruce Arains and his former time in Tampa Bay. If the Bucs want a successful safety with a proven track record and time in the league Swearinger would fit the bill. It still seems as though Eric Berry would bring more to the table as a leader and player, but Swearinger could be a cheaper option for just a one year signing until Mike Edwards reaches a higher level.

Tackle Jeremy Parnell is another player who could be an improvement at tackle. Parnell has spent time all across the league but most recently found himself in Jacksonville. Parnell has 64 starts under his belt and could be worth testing out at tackle in an attempt to better protect Jameis Winston. Ryan Schraeder has spent more time as a starter in the league with less total years which indicate that he may be the better option, but either tackle has the possibility of improving the level of play from the offensive line.

Finally, the next best free agent is wide receiver Antonio Brown….. oh wait. The Bucs absolutely do not need another wide receiver, specifically this one. The Bucs have an excellent receiving corps and do not need any players that will bring the baggage that AB possesses. The Bucs have two top-15 receivers right now with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and are trying to build up a culture, not tear one down.
