Buccaneers: Comparing Jameis Winston’s numbers first 6 games throughout career
By Cory Hays
How does this year compare to years past?
This season, entering into a contract year for Winston, the Buccaneers have once again have begun with a 2-4 record. Winston has thrown for 1,771 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. The bulk of Jameis Winston’s interceptions have come in just two games, however, as he threw three in week one against the San Francisco 49ers and five more last week against the Panthers in London.
Winston had four straight weeks in between these games, where he had a 100+ passer rating and even earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors in Week four after his performance against the Los Angeles Rams. In this game against the defending NFC champions, Winston tossed the pigskin around for over 400 yards and six touchdowns.

As you can see, Winston has really good and very bad games for the pewter and red; he is and has been inconsistent throughout his time in Tampa. However, his numbers through the first the first six games of each season have been pretty consistent for him; It has now been five years and fans are ready to move on from him.
The flashes of good outweigh the bad, but Winston needs to work on his decision making and needs to learn to throw the ball away instead of taking sacks or forcing throws for interceptions. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has 10 weeks to get things moving forward with Jameis and play like he did in weeks two through five; if Winston fails to pick up the pace this season, the organization could potentially move on from their former first overall pick.
