Josh Rosen

If the Buccaneers decide to not draft a new quarterback and still let Jameis Winston walk they could have a very intriguing option in the form of Josh Rosen. For starters, let it be very clear that Josh Rosen at his best is still not better than Jameis Winston at his best as seen up until this point in their careers.

The issue that arises through a comparison between Winston and Rosen is that Winston has had options at receiver and tight end and a marginally better offensive line while Rosen has not. The general consensus amongst the NFL is that Josh Rosen has not received a fair shake. While some may argue that Jameis hasn’t received a fair shake either, no one would dare argue that Jameis has been treated worse by his organization than Rosen has been treated by his.

Josh Rosen is a talented player and a massive question mark. The Dolphins traded for him at the start of this season to learn behind former Buccaneer Ryan Fitzpatrick but now it seems as though the Dolphins are looking at a full rebuild and are tanking to draft a quarterback at first overall in the upcoming draft.

The Dolphins and the Cardinals have both mismanaged Rosen’s use and the Buccaneers may be able to trade for him for a lower round pick as it seems he will not be a part of the future in Miami. Tampa Bay could be interested in Rosen as he is a first round talent with a very cheap price tag and now he will have experience.

Rosen is still on his rookie contract and the Bucs could use that to their advantage. If the Bucs were to bring Rosen to Tampa, Bruce Arians could help mold Josh Rosen into the player that he would want to use in his system and in the future. Rosen would have the benefit of a more successful offensive line and the best receivers that he ever had access to. The move to bring in Rosen may be beneficial to both parties.
