CB Vernon Hargreaves

The final player that the Bucs should try to trade is Vernon Hargreaves. Unlike Brate and David, Vernon Hargreaves has been awful for almost his entire duration as a Buccaneer. Hargreaves will have an occasional good game but these are often once a season or less as the rest of the year Hargreaves finds himself chasing down receivers from behind and letting off big plays and he has never lived up to his first round-status.

Hargreaves has received a very fair shake from the team and has failed to take over the starting role as was expected. Hargreaves has never been a lockdown corner and struggles even in schemes that heavily favor his style of play as seen this year. The Bucs would be wise to move off of Hargreaves sooner than later and allow the rookies and second year players some time to develop in game-time scenarios.

The biggest problem with trading Vernon Hargreaves is that very few teams would likely be interested. Other than being drafted at 11th overall, Hargreaves has very little that shows that he has at any point played football at a very high level.

This may seem harsh but Hargreaves has had several years to learn under multiple defensive-minded coaches and failed to take the next steps as a starting player. Hargreaves will likely only be able to bring in very minimal compensation, but anything would be good for the Bucs if it meant they were then allowed to give more reps to rookies that may yet still develop.
