S Kevin Byard

He is the highest paid safety in the league for a reason, and that reason is because he is an absolute ball hawk. Kevin Byard is a much watch for the Bucs, as he spearheads a Tennessee defense that ranks 14th in the league in DVOA. For a team with a turnover prone quarterback like the Bucs have in Jameis Winston, this is a problem that must be avoided at all costs.

After recording eight interceptions in 2017 and four last season for the Titans, Byard already has three picks for the Titans this season; this puts him on pace for just about seven interceptions on the season. Winston is prone to stare down his primary target and get through his reads slowly, and that is a recipe for disaster when playing against an All Pro safety like Byard.

It is hard to name a better safety in all of the NFL right now than Byard, and he continues to prove it week in and week out. Maybe now Deion Sanders finally knows who he is. One thing is for certain, the Buccaneers absolutely know who Byard is, and more than likely have number 31 highlighted all over the place.
