6. Darqueze Dennard, Cincinnati Bengals

After six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, it may finally be time for this tanking franchise to part ways with an aging veteran like cornerback Darqueze Dennard. The 24th overall pick of the Bengals back in 2014, Dennard will now enter the 2020 season at the age of 29, for a rebuilding team like Cincinnati, he may be over their age requirement.

Dennard has never developed into the lockdown cornerback that the Bengals thought they were getting when investing a first round pick into him, but he has been a solid presence during his tenure in southern Ohio. Starting only 20 games in the past five seasons, Dennard was sidelined after re-aggravating his knee that was scoped this summer.

He made his first appearance of the 2019 season last Sunday, recording two passes defended for the Bengals’ secondary. Throughout his career, Dennard has tallied just three career interceptions and 19 passes defended from his cornerback spot.

After his rookie contract expired last offseason, Dennard was re-signed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Bengals for the 2019 season. His services could probably be obtained for a similar cost this upcoming offseason as well; a more cost effective deal, the Bucs may want to look into a cheap veteran like Dennard.
