With just ten games left in his contract season, Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston still does not have a long term deal; there is good reason for that.
The hot topic, again, in Tampa Bay is quarterback Jameis Winston as he plays out the last year of his contract with the Buccaneers in 2019. A season just like the four before, Jameis has put together a handful of bad games, a couple good games, and one decent game for the pewter and red.
Torching the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants, Winston threw for a combined 765 yards and seven touchdowns over that two week span. However, needing garbage time and over 60 yards to hit 200 yards passing and a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints, then putting together a six turnover meltdown in London against the Carolina Panthers, Winston has plummeted back down to earth.
Currently on the season, Winston sits with nearly 1,800 yards passing, 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions; the fifth year quarterback is completing 60 percent of his passes as well. At this pace, Winston will finish with over 4,700 yards passing, 32 touchdown passes, but also 26 interceptions
As Winston is still without a contract extension, he must pick his play up if he hopes to win over the trust of the Buccaneers. As the front office in Tampa continues to monitor the progress of Winston, here are four truths that the former first overall pick has proved thus far.
