Someone not named Barrett will record a sack

On the season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have just 16 sacks tallied from their front five; 10 of the 16 sacks have come from a one-man wrecking crew in Shaquil Barrett. This week they will get a seventh sack on the season that is not from Barrett.

With the return of Jason Pierre-Paul, the Bucs’ pass rush looked much improved against the Titans as they sacked Ryan Tannehill three times. Carl Nassib and Pierre-Paul each tallied a sack on the day to go along with Barrett’s tenth on the season.

The Bucs ran a defensive package on passing downs that consisted of Barrett, JPP, and Nassib all on the field at the same time. Nassib would slide inside with William Gholston and Ndamukong Suh, Vita Vea would come off the field, and Barrett and Pierre-Paul rushed off the edges.

If the Bucs continue to release the hounds against this soft Seattle offensive line and can contain Wilson, then they should be able to add to their sack totals. Keep an eye on not only Barrett, but also Nassib and Pierre-Paul to get after Wilson on Sunday; given the poor play of their secondary, the pewter and red will need to get after the MVP front-runner early and often.
