Alex Cappa in, Jack Cichy to injured reserve; the Buccaneers get their starting right guard back while losing a reserve linebacker for the season.

As they prepare to take on the Seattle Seahawks in their week nine matchup, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be getting another starter back into their lineup. After breaking his arm in week five against the New Orleans Saints, Alex Cappa has returned to practice.

While the Bucs have gotten their starting right guard back at practice, they have also lost reserve linebacker Jack Cichy for the season. In week four of this year against the Los Angeles Rams, Cichy’s elbow bent the wrong way on a special teams play, which has sidelined him since; it was reported today that he had a stepback in his rehab and will now require surgery, putting him on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.

After placing Cichy on injured reserve, the Buccaneers then promoted tight end Jordan Leggett to the active roster in his place. Leggett makes the fifth active tight end on the pewter and red 53 man roster with O.J. Howard (who survived the trade deadline), veteran Cameron Brate, Antony Auclair, and Tanner Hudson.

This makes the second week in a row that the Bucs have gotten starters back from injuries after Jason Pierre-Paul made his season debut last Sunday against the Bucs; Demar Dotson also returned from injury that sidelined him for a game as well. Now the pewter and red has all five of their offensive linemen back and healthy as they look to take on the fierce Seattle defensive line led by Jadeveon Clowney.

This week nine matchup against the Seahawks will be a defining game for the rest of the Bucs’ season; lose here and dropping to 2-6 is almost impossible. Getting Cappa back will give their offensive line a big boost as they travel to Seattle.
