CB Jamel Dean

Welcome to the National Football League, Jamel Dean. The rookie third round cornerback got the wake up call of his lifetime yesterday as he was forced onto the field with the early injury to starter Carlton Davis; he would later call this game the worst that he has ever played in his career.

While Dean has been touted for his size and athleticism all offseason, coming in at a massive 6-1 and 206 pounds and still testing off the charts athletically. In this matchup, however, he got bested by a 5-9, 182 pound receiver on multiple occasions in Tyler Lockett; this includes both of his touchdown receptions where he was able to manipulate Dean in order to create seperation.

On the day overall, Dean surrendered three touchdowns and a two-point conversion attempt to Wilson and the Seahawks. He is, however, still young and promising given his athletic potential, but expecting a third round pick who has never started a game in his career to come in and save the secondary this season was a bit naive on the part of the fanbase.

You live and you learn; Dean got worked endlessly by one of the most efficient QB-WR tandems in the league. But for his performance in yesterday’s loss:

Jamel Dean, you may walk the plank!
