Pick 72. Hamsah Nasirildeen. 804. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Round 3. S. player

Further looking to solidify their secondary, the Buccaneers use yet another day-two draft pick to select in-state safety Hamsah Nasirildeen from the Florida State University. While second year player Jordan Whitehead has been playing well and Mike Edwards is just a rookie, Nasirildeen is built for a Todd Bowles defense. Cutting Vernon Hargreaves is not going to solve all of the Bucs’ problems in the secondary.

With his size, Nasirildeen can play over the top and cover some ground deep, but can also stack the box and become a force against the run as well. At 6-4 and 215 pounds, Bowles could add an enforcer to his defensive arsenal in Nasirildeen and use him in a variety of looks in the pewter and red defense.

Thus far for the Seminoles, Nasirildeen has recorded a massive 51 solo tackles from the third level of the defense, one tackle for loss, one sack, one interception, three passes defended, and three forced fumbles. Nasirildeen is a stat sheet stuffer, and depending on how he tests at the combine, he is the type of versatile player that NFL teams could fall in love with.

While he is currently projected as a third round pick, Nasirildeen could be a late riser in the draft process and hear his name called even earlier. Here he lands with the Buccaneers as the overhauld in the secondary did not stop with the release of Vernon Hargreaves and the pick of Okudah.
