Bucs can avoid last place finish for first time in three years

Right after the game against Houston, the Atlanta Falcons come to town. They appear on the Bucs schedule two times between now and the end of the season. While it is important to want to win both games against a division rival, let’s look at the week 17 clash in particular. The Bucs will again end the year at home against the Falcons like last year.

This time around both teams could be playing for the rights to third place in the division. Yes, we all know the higher pick is more valuable, but this team will have higher expectations going into year two of Arians. So, the momentum of defeating a division opponent in your last game, especially at home, maybe enough to convince fans a win here is a good thing.

We don’t know how weeks 10-16 will play out with Jameis Winston as well, and for all, we know he could have lit it up or fell flat on his face. If the Bucs can end the year on a two-game win streak, perhaps the feelings about this team and some of the holes are changed a bit.

With a chance to avoid finishing last in the NFC South for the first time in the past two seasons, the Buccaneers will be looking to top the Falcons both times. If the Bucs could end the season on a high note, then they could potentially have momentum heading into the offseason.
