Speaking of Winston…

He also said in the presser that Jameis Winston suffered an ankle sprain during the game and that he should have put Ryan Griffin in. That’s not good to hear, considering that Winston now has 18 interceptions this season.

18… In 10 games. Why not put Griffin in and see what he can do? He’s never thrown a pass in the regular season, but he’s been on this roster for five years. As for Winston… It’s past time to stop the excuses.

”But it’s the receivers fault! It’s the coaches’ fault! It’s because he has a bad offensive line and no running game! It’s also the defense’s fault! He’s great, he has no help and the rest of the organization is bad!” Here’s the truth; These things are not mutually exclusive. Jameis Winston is bad and so is the rest of the team.

Jameis Winston threw four interceptions against the Saints (one was definitely not his fault). He was also hit 12 times while dropping back to pass. Does this mean Jameis is actually good? Hell no. Does it Jameis being bad mean that the offensive line is actually good? Hell no.

As with most things, the truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two loudest ends of the spectrum. This is shaping up to be Jameis Winston’s worst season ever, and he’s had bad seasons before. He’s shown no improvement. He still makes the same mistakes he made as a rookie, even ones he made in college.

Simply put, you’re delusional if you think that a quarterback putting up these numbers during his 5th year with the same organization hasn’t shown what he’s capable of yet.
