Mock Draft Monday: Buccaneers move on from Jameis Winston
By Cory Kinnan
Every year a few sleepers make their way out of the smaller FCS schools and make an impact at the next level. Last year it was Nasir Adderley from Delaware, a second round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers. While he is not as highly touted as Adderley was a year ago, Dayton tight end Adam Trautman has all the makings of a big time playmaker at the next level.
At 6-6 and 253 pounds, Trautman is putting together a monster redshirt senior year at the small Ohio school, and as a result has already been invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl to showcase his talents against power five opponents. In 10 games with the Flyers in 2019, Trautman has already tallied 859 yards receiving and 13 scores on 65 catches.
Again, he plays at a small school in the Pioneer conference right now, so it is a wild guess how his skills will translate against tougher competition, but on film, Trautman looks like one of the top tight ends in this class. With the age and contract of Cameron Brate, and the weird decline in play from O.J. Howard, it may be time for the Bucs to take a late round flyer on a guy like Trautman.
