Ryan Jensen, Center

This season Ryan Jensen has been good and bad at the same time. Jensen has excelled in pass protection this season only allowing 1 sack this season, but he has been a liability in the running game. Pro Football Focus gave Jensen a very good grade of 84.5 so far this season in pass protection and a grade of 47.3 in the run-blocking category. Jensen will need to be better at run blocking going forward but at least he is good at something, can’t say that for some other the other offensive linemen on the team.

Jensen is in an interesting spot this offseason as his contract can be opted out by Tampa Bay if they choose to do so. Opting out would save Tampa 10 million in cap space, but with other players on the offensive line struggling, should they decide to get rid of one of the players who have at least kept Jameis upright. Tampa is expected to have a lot of cap space this offseason, so it’s hard to see Tampa moving on from Jensen.

At the end of the day, Tampa has a lot of holes to fill before they can be considered a playoff team. They will need Jensen to hold down the fort for at least 2 more years before they consider moving on from him and I don’t expect that he will be going anywhere.
