Alex Cappa, Right Guard

The right guard position is one of the main area’s of need on the Bucs offensive line, the team has struggled to get any consistency out of this position this season. Alex Cappa has missed some time this season due to a broken arm,  In the games, he has played below average at best, he has struggled in both pass blocking and run blocking this season. He has allowed 3 sacks and has 2 penalties so far this season. Pro Football Focus gave him an overall ranking of 59.1 which leaves a lot to be desired.

Right guard is one of the positions the Bucs will need to sure up this offseason as Cappa looks like he’ll at best be a quality backup in this league. The Bucs will have a few options this season at guard in the draft with Georgia’s Soloman Kindley and Tennessee’s Trey Smith.  The Buccaneers will need to improve this position if they want whoever is the quarterback next season to succeed.

The Buccaneers will have a lot of cap space this offseason and they may be in the market for a guard, some of the names that may interest them are Brandon Schereff, Marshal Yanda, and Andrus Peat. At the end of the day, the Bucs may be big spenders and they are going to need to be if they want to compete in 2020.
