Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 45. Devin White. . LB. player. 48

Improving on a week to week basis, we have seen why the Buccaneers used the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on linebacker Devin White. Over the past two weeks, White has been a force, seemingly all over the field for the pewter and red defense and stuffing the box score in the process.

Yesterday White tallied five solo tackles, an interception, a quarterback hit, and a defensive touchdown for the Buccaneers’ defense. Adding these numbers with last week’s totals for White, he has now tallied two sacks, three tackles for loss, 10 solo tackles, and three quarterback hits.

The future of the pewter and red defense is in White’s hands, and he is finally starting to show those leadership and cornerstone qualities that were hyped up during last year’s draft process. This is just the beginning for White as he and Lavonte David are going to wreak havoc from the second level the rest of the way in 2019.

While David’s future in Tampa is not settled, the Bucs should feel content and safe knowing that they have a leader in White moving forward. He has four more games to prove that he is going to be a force in this league for years to come after finally returning to full health.
